I demand advise on refurnishing balderdash skulls and horns

So this really doesn't pertain to shed hunting but I take a few bull skulls that has been out in the atmospheric condition and I would like to refurnish them .. The horns are somewhat flaky. I was told to sand them off and it will smoothen them upward..
Has anyone e'er done this?? If then I would appreciate any suggestions before I start..
Thank you, Care

Sand the horns lightly with a fine grit moisture automotive sand paper. After they have stale you can seal them with Krylon clear coat semi-gloss sealer. After the sealer has stale you tin can mask the bases so keep with bleaching the skull.

If your not too picky, you can just paint the skull with a white paint. If it is going to be an inside showpiece I would practice the full bleaching procedure and and then seal it. Is the skull pretty clean? Or is there old dried tissue and such in/on it?

It looks similar he attempted to boiled the skulls, they are pretty clean there is just a little old stale grime. I was going to take information technology downwards to the auto wash tonight and see if I ould blast it of then start cleaning the skull better..
Im going to hang information technology in my living room, so yes I desire to bleach it..
What bleaching process practice you utilise?

After you lot power wash information technology, you'll want to degrease the skull. Especialy since it has been "boiled" and since you want to hang it on the wall in your house. I personaly would desire it as bright white as possible, and then you have to make sure to get the grease out of the bone. If yous dont the os will turn yellow over fourth dimension no matter what product or how much you lot bleach it.

If you want it to wait real good and white and take it stay that way, shoot me a PM and I'll requite you lot all the details. If your not real serious most how white it is, merely hang it on the wall natural mode. Some prefer the natural await.

What ever you do . DON"T Employ BLEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Use peroxide or a peroxide paste. If you lot apply bleach it volition eat the skull over time. It will besides make the skull flakey.
